I had an early flight home from Edinburgh and the location of the hotel so near to the airport is great.

This place was fine to spend a night close to the airport for an early morning flight. We loved the Victorian Motif and decoration. It was a bit loud being close ti the main street but earplugs take care of that.

We had a good stay. Staff were friendly and rooms were clean. Breakfast was good. The decor is a bit dated but not a problem for us. We enjoyed our stay. Very convenient for getting to Murrayfield and city centre. There isn't a car park but we had no problem parking on the road very nearby.

The hotel was easy to get to and has good travel connections nearby.the outside grounds are nice. The staff are welcoming,friendly and helpful.My room was nice and clean,the bed was comfy and the facilities were well maintained too.The price for 2 nights was great.I would highly recommend this lovely wee guesthouse to anyone passing through or staying in Edinburgh for a few nights.

The only thing that you could improve upon is the the coffee could be a bit warmer.

Had a fantastic stay at the Corstorphine Lodge Hotel for 6 nights. Had a large room which was great. Breakfast every morning. The only issue we had was water leaking from the toilet on to the floor, which occasionally left a smell in the bathroom.

Clean and tidy, comfortable sleep. Nice breakfast. Parking facilities not the best.

The Corstorphine is a lovely place to stay. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The restroom was also spotless. The people who checked us in are very friendly. I love old buildings so this place was a delight for me. Unfortunately, we checked in later and left very early so I can't rate the dining room. Be aware though...there is no parking offered. However, we had no trouble finding parking on the side street.

My daughter and I traveled together and stayed at this hotel. It was conveniently located between downtown Edinburgh and the airport. The bus stops were close by and restaurants within walking distance. The hotel itself was quaint with charm which was appealing, but it needed to be updated. I didn't have a feel of crisp cleaness in the room. The staff was helpful and always courteous. We were in a small room with no window that we could open. I asked for and quickly received a fan to use in the room. All of my correspondence with staff before arrival was answered promptly. I have no complaints except for the almost rundown condition of the rooms.

Need good paint kettle socket sparks coming from it and noise of doors and people coming and going was so loud all nite

Very happy with our stay. The room had plenty of space, very clean and comfortable beds. Convenient location to the Airport and easy access to Old Town.

Unfortunately, this venue does not have a lift but help was given to get cases upstairs. Large room with one double bed & 2 single beds. No suitcase stands /holders, so cases had to be placed on a bed as too hard to manage contents on the floor. Room & ensuite clean & comfortable. Good breakfast with both Continental & cooked breakfast options available

Arrived on the afternoon prior to flying early next day.met be a lovely, polite, professional lady. The room was perfect in every way.plenty places nearby to eat and drink. Only issue 'No Parking' we parked 60m up a side street. I suspect the residents would prefer us not to. But creating parking here would be a massive initial outlay.

This hotel was in a great location with easy access into town, in a characterful building near the zoo and Murrayfield ground. It was a little tired due to the nature of the building, but was clean, bed comfy (not too soft) and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The road noise was a little intrusive at times, as the buses went by. Breakfast additional.

Nice old school style hotel, real keys for the door and big rooms. It's old and shows some wear and tear which adds to the appeal in my view. I much prefer this to modern, cramped, multi-storey city centre type hotels. Traditional breakfast very good, continental option disappointing.30 minute bus ride into the city centre, bus stop very close to the hotel and lots of buses until late.Given hotel prices during the festival, this is a good choice as a cheaper option out of the city centre.

Nice clean hotel, excellent location for transport links to city centre

We loved the location-very close to pubs we used for breakfast/tea out. We were able to walk to the zoo (took around 20 minutes) and the bus into the city centre took a similar time and was very reasonable (£2 for adults and £1 for children) A beautiful city but the hotel could do with a makeover. The manager sorted a problem out with the TV at 10 p.m which we felt a little late as one of my children were asleep but he was keen to sort. Would stay again.

With a very early flight to catch this was an excellent location to rest up. On the Airport bus route, clean, very helpful staff..they printed our boarding passes for us, reasonable prices, plenty of eateries nearby and free on street parking in neighbouring street.Totally recommend. Thank you.

We had a good time at the Corstorphine Lodge Hotel. The rooms are furnished with style and very clean and the beds are comfortable. The staff were easily approached and really nice. Breakfast was good and lasted us for most of the day. Would recommend and come again!

A solid place to stay overnight when faced with flight cancellations. Although furnishings in the lounge area are dated, the hotel is conveniently situated, with the #100 bus providing frequent and timely service to EDI. I was unable to partake in the breakfast, due to an early flight, and therefore cannot comment. The Corstorphine Lodge Hotel offers good value for price, with kind and attentive staff.

Small room but had everything I needed for a single night.

It is a well-situated hotel for taking an early flight the next day. But 2nd floor has stairs far too steep and no lift, so if you have suitcases, must get ground or first flor.

We stayed for two nights in a family suite. Location was great… good neighbourhood, everything you need nearby - great restaurants, grocers, coffee shops etc. Good playground for kids nearby, street parking free up the side street next to the hotel, tons of space. About 20 min drive to the old part of Edinburgh. Stunning big room (massive). Furniture dated, mattresses okay, but overall it was very good. Very nice staff. Everything easy, even our super early checkout.

We stayed at the Corstorphine Lodge Hotel just as a layover to catch our flight the next morning. Check-in was good, the receptionist was nice and showed us everything. Bonus point goes for storing our bags before the official check-in time. We did not have breakfast as we left at 4AM. The hotel is across the street from a bus stop leading straight to airport.

No frills hotel, room was clean and bed comfortable. Close to the airport with a bus stop just across the street. No restaurant on site but there's a number to choose from just a short walk away

Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. We appreciated being on the ground floor as we had heavy bags. The shower was excellent.The TV could have been bigger and the hot water tap in the bathroom sink took a long time to get warm but then it got too hot to use.

The stay at Corstorphine hotel was very convenient. Many well connected bus stops nearby. For 5 pounds you can get a day ticket for the buses, it takes about 20 minutes to the centre. The room was quite clean and large. I did see a small spot on the bedspread but the bedding itself was clean. To the managers of the hotel we suggest that you change the taps and showerheads to be more water-saving, to benefit your finances as well as the planet. It felt very wasteful to shower and to turn on the tap.

We just stayed for a quick stop as location is close to airport. Nice for the price and quiet, served what we needed.

This is my second time staying at the hotel but it has a lovely homely feel to it. It's nice, quiet & clean. It is an easy distance to the city centre but just out of the way that it is very calm and quiet. The rooms are always clean and the staff are all very friendly. The decor may seem old fashioned but I love all of the wood - has a very rustic feel to it.

After the initial confusion of having a room with only one bed when I put in for two, the staff quickly arranged for a new room for myself and my sister.For the next two mornings they cooked for us wonderful breakfast, with thoroughly cooked bacon.I slept well there and would come back to this hotel if I was ever in Edinburgh again.

As I have a problem with mobility, I requested a ground floor room, and what a room!It was huge, had a double and a single bed, small table and 2 chairs, bedside tables, lamps, kettle, tea, coffee etc. It was spotlessly clean, en suite also spotless.They offer breakfast which we didn't have, we were in a hurry to get home. Highly recommend, we will definitely stay here again, I'm told its pretty central for everything, castle 20 minutes on bus.

I really liked this hotel! Beautiful old building, very spacious room, wi-fi, ensuite, tea/coffee. I like that they do breakfast here so I don’t have to think about where to go for breakfast each morning. There is a bus stop right outside with frequent buses into town. It was also great that we could leave our luggage there before check-in, as our train arrived early and it allowed us to explore without having to worry about dragging our luggage around.

This was a convenient place to stay before an early flight, as it's on the 24 hour bus route to the airport. It's similarly convenenient for getting into central Edinburgh and there are shops and restaurants nearby. The room and bathroom were perfectly adequate but just a bit dated.

Room warm and spacious with shower and toilet in separate area within the room. Needed to fill kettle using shower as wash hand basin too small for kettle to fit under tap. Radiators are efficient

I stayed at the Corstorphine lodge hotel for 3 nights the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and spacious and the location was great, it is close to plenty of places to eat there is a tescos and a lidl close by and getting to the airport was easy by bus and the town centre both take around 15 minutes depending on traffic and buses are punctual and each bus stop tells you when they are coming and where each bus is going even listing the stops very helpful. If visiting scotland again i would definitely stay at the Corstorphine lodge hotel.

Everything was nice and cozy and it was a good place to stay after our plane transfer. It was connected with public transport and easy to find. Maybe the breakfast is a bit pricey for what you get, but we still think that it helped us to start a day a bit easier.

Großes, sauberes Zimmer. Nettes Personal. Super Bus-Verbindung in die City und noch kürzerer Fahrtweg zum Flughafen. Würde ich immer wieder buchen.

The staff are so honest, I couldn’t find my college graduation gold ring but when we came back from tour, my ring was there in the top of the drawer. The staff found it. A well-run establishment with a lot of character and easy access to both city center and the airport. Staff was kind and professional, our room was comfortable and cozy, and the continental breakfast was well worth its value. It will be on our list of places to stay the next time my partner and I find ourselves in Edinburgh.

Arriving late to somewhere new always has a level of nervousness. Immediately dispelled. I was quickly welcomed at the door and checked in with a smile. The bed was lovely - what I wanted and needed - a good night sleep. Breakfast was also welcoming, fast, efficient and hit the spot.So convenient for the public transport from airport and into city centre.I should be back in Edinburgh in 4 weeks, think I've found a new place to stay!

We found the hotel staff very friendly. Fresh towels daily. The room was at the front of the house but we were not disturbed by the noise of the traffic. Returning again in December.

It was a really nice stay after I got sorted with a different room. I have heart problems and we were placed in a room in the attic which was lovely and clean but the stairs were too much couldn’t breathe after climbing them. My husband asked to be moved and explained and we were moved to the ground floor without any hassle the manager was lovely.

From the beginning to end we were looked after by very friendly staff who went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. Room was very clean and comfortable with hairdryer, kettle coffee tea etc. Breakfast was well presented and hot, made to order. Definitely recommend this place and we would stay here again.Also on a bus route to city centre which is a great help.Perfect place for access to all the stores, castle restaurants etc. Book it, you know you want to do it.Thanks again to the staff. You made our stay perfect.

Nice big room, with nice view. Beds comfy. Shower and bathroom good. Stair way up to top floor is narrow, so bit hard to get bags up, with no elevator. Other that that, great value for money.

The staff was amazing and very friendly. We arrived early to drop off our bags so we could return our rental car and was happily surprised to be told that we could actually check in since our room was ready. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly and we had a comfortable and quiet last night before heading for home the next morning. About a ten minute taxi ride to the airport and close to the bus stop to get downtown.

Hotel was comfortable and clean. It was ideally located for public transport access into the city and to the airport. Great Indian restaurant 2 minutes away.Breakfast was ok. The coffee needed to be freshly made, it was stewed and tasted as if it had been left for a long while. Would book again.

Lovely big, comfortable and bright room, had everything we needed. Parking is a bit inconvenient (neighboring streets). Restaurants, food shop, public transport nearby, very convenient.

Good location if traveling from the airport (10 mins drive, £15-£20 by taxi). Public transport next to the hotel, 20-30 mins to Princess Street and the train station. Room was a large - above average size, clean, with free tea and coffee provided. Late check in available and check out at 11.00, which is helpful if arriving late from the airport. Overall it exceeded expectations, great for what we needed.

I stayed for one night prior to an early flight from Edinburgh.The room was fine, with everything required, and a good blackout blind on the velux window.The hotel is on the main bus route into town, and there is a supermarket 2 or 3 minutes wall away.

When we work in Edinburgh always stay here there is a spoons 2 minute away 2.50 a pint of larger its 10 drive to centre

Conveniently located a few steps from the bus stops for both directions, airport and city center, this modest little hotel is not a bad choice for a short stay. Relaxed atmosphere, but the room was on the cool side in late November and the dining room was too cold to enjoy the otherwise decent breakfast. The biggest shortcoming was the shower. The shower booth is too small for a normally built westerner and the water pressure insufficient for a real shower.

Spent a weekend here while exploring Edinburgh and while it's a bit far from the city centre (just a 20 min bus ride, 3 different ones stopping almost in front of the hotel), we enjoyed it very much. Our room was clean, spacious and comfy. And breakfast was great.Would definitely recommend.

Clean, pleasant hotel but tired in places but like staying at an elderly relatives! Double glazing would be a great benefit as a bit noisy if your bedrooms on the front. Chef sat/sun a lovely guy. Great location for getting in and out of city centre just needs a bit of an update.

Very good value for money. Easy access to the airport and the city centre. One bus stop from the zoo. Good sized room, comfortable and in good condition. Excellent staff who are very helpful. Going to Edinburgh this is where I'll try and book in the future.

I recently visited Edinburgh on a business trip. Upon arrival at the Corstorphine Lodge Hotel, I was greeted with a smile. All staff were very welcoming, polite and were happy to serve you.The room itself was lovely, very cosy bed & pillows and clean too.The location was perfect for my business appointments. It's very close to the zoo and approximately 10-15 minutes away from the main city.If I'm ever in Edinburgh again, business or personal, the Corstorphine Lodge will be my hotel of choice.

It was a wonderful one night stay, I liked very much my room with the lovely veranda giving view on a fabulous garden. Next time I am passing by Edimbourg I will of couse reserve a night in this hotel.

Well positioned hotel, easy access to Edinburgh. Although there wasn’t on site parking, there was plenty of availability in the roads next door. Room was clean, large with modern facilities. Two points - just a little more imagination on breakfast would make a huge difference, generic offering was ok and well cooked, but better sausages, ketchup, eggs cooked a couple of ways etc - would lift the experience. Heating was on and room was initially too hot. Well done overall though, these comments are minor and hopefully will be taken constructively.

We had an overnight in Edinburgh after a long journey from the south of Italy and it was made all the more bearable by the welcome we got from Liam. He couldn't do enough for us and went above and beyond to make our overnight enjoyable with his humour and helpfulness.His full Scottish breakfast, cooked for us the next day, was also excellent. A pay rise is due for that young man I think.

I love the charm of this lodge, is a cozy typical Scottish house. The service was great specially the breakfast, the gentleman that works there is super friendly and efficient. The only recommendation I have for future guests is to bring their own shampoo & conditioner because the lodge only offers a pair of sachets with shampoo, conditioner and body shower all in only one small sachet, which is no practical for people with long hair. I had my own shampoo and conditioner so it didn’t affect me much. The lodge does no offer slipper or robes, they just offer 2 small towels, so bring your own after shower shoes (if you use it). Other than that, I loved this lodge.

I stayed 1 night. Check in was a problem because I arrived late at night. Beyond that I had a great stay! The staff was friendly and apologetic about the check in problem. The room was clean. I appreciated having the hot pot with a selection of coffee and tea in the room. And the option for breakfast was great! I had a full Scottish breakfast and enjoyed it! I would have liked to be able to have a late check out since I arrived so late, but was denied that. I don't really understand that. The one other issue was the dated couch in the room.

Located between Edinburgh Airport and the city centre, Corstorphine Lodge provides an excellent basis if you fly into Edinburgh and are happy to use public transportation. Frequent bus services take you in both directions. After a busy day in Edinburgh, you will find it surprisingly quiet here. A substantial Scottish breakfast took us through the better part of the day. We're sure to come back!

For my convenience, I preferred to stay at the hotel the night before departure as it is very close to the airport and I was happy.Staff exceptionally helpful, kind and very caring. my daughter and I stayed in the room with two beds and we fell in love with it: it's a mini apartment with a private bathroom. Very comfortable beds (certainly more than mine) and, in the small bathroom, we found the essential (but not a hairdryer which, for just one night, you can do without).The only big difficulty, for me, that I have walking problems due to age and sciatica, getting on and off (with suitcases) from the narrow and steep stairs despite the carpet: if my daughter hadn't been there to give me a hand for sure I would have rolled down just by looking at them!Anyway, highly recommended!

The room was clean but the directions said right across the street from the bus stop which it was NOT. We had to ask directions at a restaurant next to bus stop Also not advised room was on third floor with extremely steep twisty stairs. Very difficult if you have luggage Staff very nice

Reasonable for the price and good location if you fo t want to drive into centre of Edinburgh.Bus right outside the door to get to all the attractions, Zoo, Castle etc.

The hotel is comfortable, the staff welocoming and helpful. Breakfast was very good and wholesome. Parking less than satisfactory, and the hotel needs some updating, decorwise.

Feeling of the hotel was very cozy and welcoming. The location is a bit distant from downtown but you get a quiet place to spend your night.

Was a little nervous staying here after reading some reviews but for anyone considering please book, you wint be disappointed. Lovely period property with a huge room (3 full size singles, 1 full size double (no sofa beds or pullouts). On a main road which leads into the City so plenty of frequent buses so no need to use your vehicle to get about. Breakfast cooked fresh to order and plenty of food. Servers always replenishing the fresh juices, bread etc. We visited for my adult daughters birthday and we had a bittle of wine, glasses and a lovely note from the Properietors & Staff. Made to feel like home from home. Will stay again

Very welcomiing and pleasant staff. Room was basic but clean. The bathroom was small but clean. The TV was making a funny noise when switched on but did work evetually. Breakfast was good.

We enjoyed our stay at the lodge, although the bed was a bit uncomfortable and very creaky, but that's not the end of the world. The staff were very friendly and it was a great price for 3 nights. Thank you for being very accommodating.

This place was a nice find and surprised us. It is on a busy main road that leads directly into the centre of Edinburgh and we had a room at the front. Once the heavy curtains had been drawn you wouldn't know the main road was there. Incidentally there are a lot of eateries on the road (indian, italian, chinese etc...) so we were well catered for.The room was large with a double bed and single also along with desk, table, chairs, fireplace, en suite... some parts a little tired but perfectly serviceable. Room was warm but not overly, water was hot, shower was good (missing part of the shower door but a curtain was in place).We received a nice welcome and was then left alone which is how I like it.Breakfast was included and was fine if a little lacking in niceties (ham in a plastic fridge container, no tea or coffee pots but having to carry cups of hot drinks around and fruit that had seen fresher days - you know, first world problems lol) but the cooked breakfast was very good. Note to hotel: please wait until a person has finished cereal before bringing the cooked breakfast choice to the table. Staff were polite but perfunctory and I don't mind the odd tatoo but if arms are covered with them then to be honest I would advise they are covered.Initially we worried about no parking but side roads had plenty of space and we left the car for three days with no problem.I would more than recommend this hotel. Transport links to Edinburgh are really good, it's a 20 minute walk to the zoo and 5 minutes from the motorway network and I'd happily stay here again.

My partner and I have been traveling around the UK. Corstirphine lodge hotel has been the best hotel I've stayed in.It was out last night on Scotland and we had an early flight in the morning. They cater to everyone needs. Always trying there best to make their customers happy. Breakfast was included but we were leaving very early they come to our room the night before and gave us a small basket of fruit for our travels. Which was very nice. I'll definitely be coming here again. I felt so welcomed at this place.Very clean.Staff very happy and helpful.

We booked this hotel after I made an error on my original booking with another hotel. The duty manager on duty around 20:00 on 08/10/18 was lovely! Made us feel really welcome after an awful day.Offered an early continental breakfast as well which was very nice of him.Tea and coffee facilities in the room, comfortable beds, with quiet surroundings. My only suggestions would be the shower door didn’t fully open due to the toilet being so close,the door on the toilet didn’t lock, the front door we were advised to use for smoking would be good if you had a handle on the inside to stop it from closing loudly rather than struggling to close it quietly.The staff were very friendly and attentive to our needs. I would definitely stay here again!

Das Hotel hatte eine gute Lage, wir konntendirekt von dort aus mit dem Bus in die Innenstadt fahren. Das Dreibettzimmer war ausreichend groß für drei Erwachsene, jedoch war der Boden des Zimmers nicht wirklich sauber. Es war wohl oberflächlich gesaugt worden, aber nicht nass gewischt. Das Frühstück war sehr gut und reichlich.

This is an incredibly convenient place to stay if you have a stopover from the airport. Just a few stops on the frequent airport bus and then a short walk from the bus stop. I arrived very late at night and it worked well. Then there are very frequent buses into the city. I was too tired to sample the breakfast.

Ideally situated on the way from the airport to the city centre and with a number of good restaurants nearby.Unfortunately, I will not be able to return because I have severe lower back pain and the bed was far too hard for me but will no doubt be perfect for others to use.The staff were helpful and friendly and the breakfast selection and quality was very good.

I stayed there just one night and it was a really nice experience. The area is so convenient if you want to go to the airport early in the morning. The building is gorgeous, fab bedrooms and it's so peaceful if you want to sleep properly. Really nice breakfast and the staff is really friendly. We travelled as a small group for Hogmany, Edinburgh and Scottish highlands sightseeing. Corstophine Lodge was a great base for our four day stay. We loved the traditionally styled hotel with space to spread out in the large rooms. We also got a complimentary bottle of wine and Scotch finger biscuits on arrival! The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the included breakfast hearty. The accommodation is two stops away from the airport or a 30 minute bus ride into the centre of town. There's frequent buses from £1.60 just outside the hotel.

The location of the hotel is ideal as close to family restaurants, zoo and city centre. Bus stop outside so again no issues with transport. Only negative was the lack of parking (had to park on a side road) which is a pain when loading/unloading the car. Hotel nice enough, breakfast nice and little bar was adequate.

Perfect overnight stay thank you.Only some very minor niggles for me.Help upstairs with my bag would have been welcome.I couldn't adjust the radiator temperature(too warm in the night) and the bathroom extractor was noisy. More of a niggle for other guests than for me?

The hotel is comfortable and clean. The staff are friendly and this is ideal if you are on business and just want somewhere overnight.Beware the hotel does not offer parking and you have to park in the street, which may not suit everyone. Otherwise it was perfectly acceptable.

Das Hotel ist sehr schön nicht zu groß, das Personal immer sehr freundlich und die Lage ist sehr gut etwas außerhalb von Edinburgh City aber mit dem Bus in ca.10min zureichen(Bushaltestelle vorm Hotel). Restaurants und Supermarkt in der Nähe. Frühstück ist ausreichend und die Zimmer sind klein aber sehr sauber (man ist den ganzen Tag ja unterwegs). Würde jeder Zeit wieder dort buchen und kann es jedem empfehlen.

We were there just for one night. Everybody was very friendly. The room was clean, the beds were good. The bathroom was clean and there was everything we needed. Next day breakfast was good. The house is very British, isn't it? We liked our stay and if we visit Scotland again (we are from Germany)I can imagine to stay there for another night. By the way, this hotel is not expensive!

We needed to be at Edinburgh airport at a very early hour - our room was fantastic for this purpose - we have family over an hours drive away so will book again here on our next stayStaff were very helpful - we arrived too early to get into our room but they cheerfully gave us a spot to leave our luggage while we hopped on a bus into town for a few hours site seeing which was a bonusThey even made a call to a taxi for our early [in the dark!] pick up & the cab was 5 minutes early too so we sailed through what could have been a stressful time with smiles on

Great location- I was worried when I saw no parking but there is lots of room on the streets around.Plenty of buses into town. Room a good size but curtains thin. Breakfast was hearty although the continental section was minimal. Friendly family run hotel.

We had a specious room for our family (two children 17 and 15 years old) in a traditional house in British style. The staff is very friendly. Breakfast was good. Bus connection to the city centre near by.

The hotel is nice and comfortable. Our family room was quite big. There was a bit of noise from the traffic at night and the curtains were thin so a lot of light came in.

From the moment we stepped in, we felt like we were expected and the welcome was so warm. The stuff helped out with luggage, information about bus transportation, everything.... The breakfast was rich and tasty and breakfast room really nice. I loved the building, the bed was nice and room spacious. Flat TV was big enough and lights you could switch off from bed. We stayed there for two nights and there really wasn't any problem the stuff didn't solve. So we'd definately look forward to come back as the location is perfect as well.

We got in very late and easily got to the hotel. Everything was arranged for our late arrival and there was no problem at all. In the morning we had a good breakfast and started to get organized. We had some logistical problems back at the airport and the hotel staff was so helpful. We couldn't have gotten everything figured out without their help. Highly recommend the hotel.

The hotel is located 10 mins walk from the zoo and on easy bus access routes around the city. The room we had (No 2) was massive with 2 double beds and a sofa. Really clean, tidy and comfortable and the bathroom was spacious and clean.Did not have an evening meal or drinks in the bar so can't pass comment.Staff were really friendly and helpful but maybe not morning people. My only criticism was that breakfast was advertised up to 0900hrs so we went at 0845hrs. The breakfast was basic but pleasant but at exactly 9 o'clock everything disappeared like "snaw aff a dyke". No chance of a second cup of tea or fruit juice. Butter and jam locked up. Couldn't wait to get us out of the breakfast room.

We chose the hotel as it was close to our pick up point when joining/leaving an ongoing tour. The staff were helpful and friendly and we appreciated the "cooked to order" breakfast. Rooms were spacious and well equipped and having a key to the main door was useful. Good bus link into the city centre. Thank you.

I visited Edinburgh zoo after arriving at the airport and then walked to the corstophine lodge hotel where I had an excellent stay in a lovely well appointed room which had everything I needed. Breakfast the next morning was very good with plenty of choice.The rates were very reasonable and I would certainly recommend this hotel and the friendly staff.

My mom and I only stayed one night but found the hotel to be a great option to more expensive hotels nearby. The hotel is across from the airport bus stop ..... a10 minute ride to the airport. A number of decent restaurants are also nearby including an excellent Bengali restaurant across the street. Tesco and a gas station are 1 minute from the hotel.

Great hotel location for the airport, lovely welcoming staff, room really clean and tidy, up to early for breakfast so cant comment.Will definitely use this Hotel again.

Was very pleased with the size of the room as we were a family of four adults and was worried that the room would be cramped. However it was large with lovely period features. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was adequate. All in all good value for money.

L’hôtel est conforme à ce que l'on attendait en voyant les photos : on savait que c'était un peu vieillot et un peu loin. Cependant, on voit que l'hotel tourne bien. On est resté 5 nuits et On a apprécié la propreté et la taille de la chambre pour 4. La rue était un peu bruyante mais ça ne nous a pas trop gêné. Il serait utile qu'ils remplacent la hotte de la cuisine au rez de chaussée pour éviter aux odeurs du petit déjeuner de monter dans les chambres des étages. Le soir du 31 décembre, le personnel nous a délicatement posé une bouteille de vin rouge et une grosse boite de shortbreads avec une carte de voeux pour la nouvelle année ! Bravo et merci.

Our granddaughter was due to take part in a chanter competition which was cancelled at the last minute. We decided to bring her to do some shopping. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay. Room was big and warm very clean. The staff were vert pleasant would certainly recommend this hotel very handy for the city.

Hi the staff were all very good and looked after my luggage and took it to my room as I arrived well before 3.00 and did not get back to book in until 22.00. All clean and tidy with a comfy bed. My omelette was a bit slow in coming and I had to rush off to catch the train home. I also helped pour some pints to some fellow guests which was kind of cute....

After I booked this hotel I then read the reviews some of which were very poor, so me expectations were not high. I arrived very early at 11am and although my room was not ready as it was only just after checkout time I was given the key as I would not be back until very late. The room was huge with both a double and single bed. Everything was perfect and a fine breakfast in the morning. Staff and facilities were superb. A very happy outcome.

The Corstophine Hotel and Corstorphine Lodge Hotel are very easy to find as the 2 hotels are next to each other on the main road half way between the Airport and the city centre. I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights, and wished that I could have stayed longer. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The double room with ensuite bathroom was very good and of a high standard for the money that I paid. The choice of breakfast is either cooked of buffet, and also very good indeed, much better than I have had in some other hotels. I would reccomend this hotel to visitors, and I would love to stay here again on my next trip without question. It is very easy to go into the city centre from here, there is a choice of 3 buses from a bus stop 50 yards away. Opposite the hotel are a few shops, and a post office which is handy. A short 5 minute walk down the main road from the hotel is a Toby carvery and a Wetherspoon pub should you need some food and a drink. Stay at this hotel and the staff will look after you.

Booking the Corstorphine Lodge Hotel was a great choice for myself and my Girlfriend. Firstly it was one of the more affordable places online, which we all know could mean that you are in for a shock once you arrive. However, we read reviews online and most were very good.I canhonestly say that we were not disappointed with our choice. We were greated at the door with a very friendly face and once checked in our room did not disappoint either.The room beautiful, spacious and clean. We were not aware that the stay included breakfast, which was an added bonus.We were defintely well looked after, and they even catered for my vegetarian girlfriend.The staff were always very friendly.The only downside to the stay, which didn't really make a difference to us. Was that the TV was a little faulty. They offered to move us to a new room to solve this, which was very kind. But after a long day walking around admiring the beautiful sites Ediburgh had to offer us we were so tired the faulty TV was the last thing were we worried about.Corstorphine Lodge Hotel would definitely be our first choice for accomadation should our travels bring us back to Edinburgh.

I stayed for one night before a meeting in Edinburgh. Due to late arrival of trains, I was late to the hotel, but the staff were extremely accommodating and I even received a free room upgrade.Would definitely stay again. The only downside was the very low pressure in the shower.

Excellent rooms and very attentive staff. My only advice for improvement would be to install external lights over the stone steps from the car area up to the entry doors. without, its challenging in the gloom!

Don't let the outdated decor and chintzy ornaments fool you. The guy serving on reception and again at breakfast is a credit to the service industry. Attentive and helpful and clearly very busy.It would definitely benefit from an update but then I suppose it might lose its charm.

We stayed for one night before flying to Orkney for a holiday. Both rooms were large and well appointed. The hotel is particularly well situated for the airport which is 5 minutes away but this hotel has the advantage of being much cheaper than the airport ones and in a great position for a meal out in the evening with lots of choice.Breakfast was excellent - a really good choice, lots of well cooked food and a very efficient service.There is no parking at the hotel but we found a space in the side street right next to it with no problem at all. A great good value deal all round.

Needing accommodation overnight while we settled our Son into University I tried all of the usual hotel chains and found they were fully booked, too expensive or too far from the university campus. After finding The Corstophine Lodge on Google we decided to book. It turned out to be barely 5 minutes drive to campus and staffed by a friendly hardworking team. The buildings themselves are old and quite grand so don't expect the latest furnishings and soulless identikit looks of the major chains. However everything you need for a short stay is there, everything is clean and dust free, the staff are friendly, attentive and always checking, cleaning and keeping everything topped up over breakfast (which is excellent) and the hotel is on the main bus route into Edinburgh. The next time we need to stay over we'll just book The Corstophine Lodge again.

The staff are this hotels biggest assets - they were very friendly, helpful and considerate. The quadruple family room was large and spacious but was in need of attention - the first thing we saw were the broken blinds which immediately put us off. The beds were comfy - in this room there were 2 doubles and a single as well as a leather sofa and it still felt spacious. When I reported the blind I was told they were in a process of upgrading the rooms which was evident as there was a skip on view from the breakfast room.

Yanash (sp?) was a fabulous and friendly host. He greeted us late, and then fixed our breakfast early the next morning. He made us feel welcome and at home. We will stay here again if we have the opportunity.

Only stayed 1 night in room No. 30 which was massive in size, clean, comfortable and adequate. The shower / toilet room was very small especially for the room size but it did what it meant for. I stayed here for an over night to be close to the airport on my way for holidays.The location was ideal being near a bus stop for the airport bus which cost only 4.50 direct to the airport.The welcome was friendly with a quick check in.The room was basic, clean and comfortable, with its own shower room.It was a comfortable over night stay, very handy for the airport, there were plenty of places to eat close bye. We stayed there for one night before our flight back home and it was a very pleasant stay: great rooms, good breakfast and affordable price. The rooms look somehow "original", you feel like staying in the 19th century without missing the usual comfort of course.As it is really easy to find coming from north direction, close to the airport (<5 miles) and the bus station to Airlink bus very close it is a perfect option for a short-term stay.

A great stay for little money.Thé most important asset are the people working in the hotel. They are very warm, friendly and give your stay a more personal touch.The room is also great: a big room with a seperate large bathroom. The only litte minus are the windows, wich are single glassed.

A group of 9 of us stayed for 1 night in the hotel in 5 rooms and had loads of space/beds in each of the rooms.Way more than expected.The hotel was great, a good breakfast included, a short taxi ride away from Edinburgh city centre, clean, comfortable and great value for money.The showers could be better in some of the rooms but that didn't spoil our stay - would definitely come back and stay again.

My partner and I stayed at this hotel only for one night but will likely stay here again. The hotel is well situated with easy 20 minute bus access into the center of Edinburgh town. Free street parking is available around the hotel and there were no problems with leaving the cars there. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The room was large, which was surprising but also very warm, with very little noise from the road outside. A great stay"

The space of a Victorian building has not been compromised and gave the feeling of lots of space. I arrived very late (11pm) and left early next morning so can only give the view of a sleep. It had all the basics, it is not a luxurious hotel but it is a ncie hotel.

This is the second time we have stayed at the hotel prior to an early flight from Edinburgh.Our room was comfortable on both occasions especially room 23 which we would hope to get again as we will definitely use the hotel again.Although we had to be away before breakfast we were able to help ourselves to fruit juice and cereal from the dining room. Ideal hotel for access to airport.

The premises were very clean, staff helpful and friendly, breakfast well above average. Location very well served both by airport and city centre busses.The furniture and decoration of two out of three rooms we had were quite old and run down but comfortable. We had to climb a narrow spiral staircase to reach two of our rooms. Next time we shall ask for rooms on ground or first floor as I suffer from vertigoes.We were overall pleased by the deal we had.

The lady checking us in was pretty overwhelmed. The room was very spacious (4 beds in a big open room, even though we were only 2) and there was a good strong wifi signal. Didn't get to stay for breakfast due to very early flight.Great curry and pubs nearby too.

What a lovely, friendly hotel!!! Friendly staff, nice room, great value for money, easy access to the City via the frequent buses and the complimentary bottle of wine and shortbread biscuits were the icing on the cake!! :-)

I got a good deal for this through booking.com for my mum. She felt safe, cosy and appreciated the room was comfy, quiet and clean. Staff welcoming and helpful. It's a little dated but she wasn't looking for state of the art for the price she paid. I'll use the hotel myself for when I'm in Edinburgh. Parking tricky but drop off in street very easy. Nice lounge spaces too.

Just stop for one short night on my way to the airport, had an excellent sleep and the receptionist was very friendly...

Fabulous stay at the Costorphine Lodge Hotel. Right from the first minute that we were welcomed in, there was an air of determination to succeed. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were excellent, very clean, tidy and in first class order. The breakfast was superb, and the staff presenting breakfast should have streets named after them: they worked SO HARD to make the breakfast experience special. They were fabulous ambassadors for the hotel. Very good value for money too. We'll be back!

I had a weekend away with my other half, the hotel was located 5 minutes away from the zoo & 10-15 minutes away from the city centre with pubs and shops on the doorstep. The hotel was ideal for the money (only booking it on 2 weeks notice aswel) only thing was that the shower was hot & cold, it never stopped on hot when turned to the hot setting. That aside. The service & cleanliness of the building was of a good standard, the staff were also very helpful.

Stayed here for one night (group of 3 adults).We were extremely grateful to the very helpful member of staff who greeted us on arrival and moved us to a ground floor room which was easier for one of the party who has mobility problems.Room was huge (3 double beds and still plenty of room), very clean and warm.We also had a small conservatory attached to the room with seating area overlooking the garden.Breakfast was plentiful and good variety.Hotel was only 10 minutes from the airport and on a main road with several places to eat for the evening.Buses available outside the door for travelling into city centre.I would not hesitate to stay here again.

We stayed here the 23/25 October 2015 it was close to the zoo which was excellent. All the staff were helpful, friendly and courteous. Downsides the bed was s bit hard and the TV in the room didn't work very well. Upsides room clean and functional, the hotel was warm in all areas, the breakfasts were good and service excellent. Would we stay again? Definitely!!! Superb value for money

The hotel is quite close to the city centre. About 15 minutes by bus. Hotel clean. Decor is a bit dated, but this adds character to the hotel. Nice friendly staff. We enjoyed our stay.

We had a comfortable and spacious room. As some reviewers have noted some of the furnishings are dated but the room was very clean. There were some nice touches like a chocolate on the bed and bottled water as well as tea and coffee etc. Very pleasant staff in the breakfast room with freshly prepared cooked breakfast. Whilst there is no on site parking I was able to get quite close on one of the side streets.All in all we were pleased with our stay.

Very comfortable stay, the staff were very helpful at all times, eg allowing temporary storage of a case, phoning for taxi to airport, etc. Large room had everything we needed

Our room was very comfortable, clean and shower was excellent.Coffee and milk was supplied to us in excess as we are big coffee drinkers and nothing was an issue.Staff all very helpful and pleasant. Our cooked breakfast was freshly prepared, well presented and generous although would prefer a later breakfast than 9am close.We also requested a 1pm late checkout at a small fee which was acceptable.Very good value for money and we will be returning.

The hotel was close to everything we needed for our visitto Edinburgh zoo. The hotel was nice on arrival and we were quicky shown to our room whichagain was great and spacious. The only thing I can point out is there was no on site parking which was a shock at first but was quickly putright by the safe street parkingat the side of the hotel. Would use again

Ok very good experience

We combined a visit to the Scottish Dog Show with a birthday weekend and despite the weather being cold and wet we enjoyed our time in Edinburgh and this is the fourth stay at the Corstorphine Hotel so that speaks for itself!

The hotel is within a short bus ride to the centre of Edinburgh (bus stop on the main road, a few yards from the hotel). It's also within walking distance to the Edinburgh Zoo. The staff are friendly and helpful, although some members of the staff struggle with English. Had to check in late (after 11pm) but called reception to advise and they were absolutely fine with it. We stayed in a big family room although we were only 2 paying for a double. The overall décor is dated but the rooms are clean and comfy. Breakfast was ok but buffet selection/quality could be better. Strangely enough, free WiFi is only supposed to be available in the sitting room, although I couldn't use it when I went in; but there is a network that is accessible on the first floor (at least in the room that we stayed in, no. 6) and it's also free of charge - but no one informed us of it! No biggie for us as we have UK mobile phones with 3g, but foreign tourists would definitely appreciate the free WiFi in their rooms. Definitely recommended for this price tier!
